Prolife Youth Sneak Peek!

I write for another blog with a group of teens/young adults, called Prolife Youth. Every month, I turn in a blog defending the beauty and dignity of life. It's a beautiful challenge because I can't mention that every child is beloved and willed by God, because the blog isn't religious. It's awesome to be able to strengthen that part of the argument through something that I've been called to!

Here's a sneak peek at my May blog: Although we may not often hear of abortion cases, one major case took place last year that received national coverage. With this case came the biggest debate in the issue of the legality of abortion: when a child is considered human. Let’s say you plant a seed in the ground. You start to water it and a little green sprout starts to emerge from the dirt. You wouldn’t dig it up because you decided you didn’t like the idea of having a flower in your yard, would you? Maybe you’d move the flower to a different place in your yard, or maybe you’d let it grow and see how beautiful it would turn out to be. The idea of stripping life from something as precious as a child is infinitely more disturbing than from a flower. Determining the age of the start of life during pregnancy would permanently prohibit abortions after a certain age. Late-term abortions usually occur after the 20th week of gestation. At this point, almost all babies are viable, meaning they can survive outside of the womb. I continue with the case of Kermit Gosnell and his "house of horrors." Several of the details are a bit graphic, but it's important to spread the total terror of all abortions, especially late-term ones.
