Intervention by Chivalry!

As I was praying my Rosary today, my mind continued to wander. I prayed for the strength to focus on the mystery I was saying. As I gave the Holy Mother a rose for each Hail Mary, I envisioned handing her the roses. This was a bit of a problem because, you see, Mary was trying to bring baby Jesus up the temple stairs (4th Joyful Mystery: Presentation in the Temple). So I placed each rose by her feet as we walked together; Joseph patiently, quietly, lovingly following. Each step I took with them. Each step I felt the true, beautiful, motherly love that the Queen of Heaven freely offers us. After Mary and Joseph had presented Jesus, it was time to go to the next Mystery together.
Just then, something beautiful happened. An intervention by chivalry! St. Joseph handed Mary a bouquet of my perfect, pure, red roses. She laughed that beautiful motherly laugh that all children are familiar with. As I held the Christ Child and left the temple, Mary and Joseph walked together, while never letting their attention leave Jesus.
After St. Joseph gave Mary the roses, I felt a new devotion forming in my heart. I focus so much on my relationships with others, but I don't pray to the saint who experienced the most difficult struggle in his relationship. He didn't know what was going on, and he never said a word, but he was supporting. He raised God. That's a big deal. And God wouldn't entrust His perfect Son to just any guy. God knew that the earthly paternal figure in Christ's life had to be someone who could handle that kind of pressure. Someone who could find peace in the most difficult of situations.
Mary and Joseph walked out together, but kept their eyes on Christ. This is how all relationships should be. We should walk with each other, but never let our eyes leave Christ. We should pray for one another. We should be humble. Men, be chivalrous. When I say that, I don't mean "hey, get your chick flowers". Remember what those flowers were! They were my prayers to Mary. When you know that your girl needs uplifting, be that figure. Hand those Hail Mary roses to Mary. Give her your devotion and love. She's your mother! And Jesus's mother! She knows exactly what you need. The way to Christ is through Mary, His Mother, who presents our prayers to Christ her Son.
Women, be humble. Pray for your guy as he spiritually gives Mary flowers for you. Never take your eyes off Christ. Even in the most desperate of times, never stop praying. Mary is the way to Christ, and her prayers to Him are the most powerful. Humility is the most gracious gift received. As women, we are called to a different sense of humility than men. To mirror the Holy Mother is the fastest way to learn this humility.
"Let us ask our Lady to give us her heart, so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate, so full of love and humility, that we may be able to receive Jesus in the bread of life, love him as she loved Him, and serve Him in the distressing disguise of the poorest of the poor."
-Bl. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa)
I'm praying for you all! Reflect the Holy Family in all that you do! God Bless you!! :)
